NooN Cafè & Restaurant, located in the heart of Milan's business district, brings new inspiration to the restaurant concept by merging quality cuisine, entertainment, contemporary art and design in a single space. NooN is a true LocArt gallery, where aesthetics meet relaxation. NooN Cafè & Restaurant is divided into five different spaces, one just right for any given time of day: * Cocktail lounge * Buffet * A la carte restaurant * Smoking parlor * DJ club. With this unique mix for the most demanding and exclusive clientele, NooN is open from 12:00 noon to 2:00 a.m. Buffet Restaurant The buffet bar and restaurant on the ground floor can seat about sixty in two different areas. One, furnished with small islands of tables and low, warm-color, bistro armchairs designed by Vico Magistretti, is perfect for enjoying buffet lunches or a drink at cocktail hour. The buffet dining room, with its bright colors, high tables, buck and calfskin ottomans, and red leather love seats, is the ideal venue for a well-balanced light lunch. An imposing, fifty-foot, bleached oak bar with a Corian countertop dominates the area set aside for the buffet bar. Its unusual placement echoes the structure's three main perspectives to highlight the architecture and ferry guests from one room to another. A La Carte Restaurant The à la carte restaurant on the mezzanine level seats some 120. This broad space gets its rhythm from Simone D'Auria lamps and NooN's thematic colors: cool white dishes and tables, set off by warm brown tablecloths and hot orange lamps, are enlivened by the unique, fresh touch of flowers that brighten the centerpieces. The wall art, a composition of eighty-eight white and two red ostrich eggs by Jay C. Lohmann is complemented by glossy black Corian tables ringed by charcoal and beige "Cirene" chairs designed by Vico Magistretti. Smoking Parlor In perfect 1940s Cotton Club style, NooN's tobacco-friendly area covers some 100 square meters, making it perhaps the largest smoking parlor Milan has ever seen. Careful attention has clearly been paid to even the smallest detail, from the sixties ashtrays to its choice of lamps. It is furnished with 'vintage' sofas and armchairs in fine, exotic leather, as well as buck and calfskin ottomans and antique tables by Roberta e Basta and Spazio 900. The wall bears a wooden display case with a fine collection of selected Cuban cigars: Partagas, Cohiba, Romeo y Julieta, Montecristo, Trinidad. DJ Club The DJ club fills a pure white space with the constantly changing dance of flashing lights to play host to some 200 people. The ceiling offers a berth to an important sculpture by Piet Hein Eek. This chandelier is a spherical cage of intertwined steel ribbons lit by miniature bulbs. The furniture includes shiny steel tables, resin-covered concrete benches topped by soft, white leather cushions, and white leather ottomans. White resin flooring completes the ambiance. The Noon Flavor Cuisine NooN carefully chooses high-quality, natural ingredients for its gourmet offerings, with daily trips to selected suppliers for niche products far more recherché than mere famous brands. NooN's lunch and dinner menus du jour range well beyond traditional Italian cuisine into international specialties and ethnic dishes. Wine Cellar A well-stocked wine cellar gives NooN patrons a broad choice of both Italian and foreign vintages. The same careful choice that goes into the cuisine applies to the wine list, which has passed many overrated bottles by to home in on the real treasures that vintners in Italy and worldwide have come up with. Alongside great Italian wines like "Cà Del Bosco," "Ornellaia," "Avignonesi Vin Santo-Occhio di Pernice," and "Masseto," the cellar prizes bottles from France, the United States, Israel, and Australia, such as "Chateau Cos D'Estournel" and "Chardonnay Golan Heights Winery." A broad selection of champagnes offers only les meilleurs: Krug, Dom Perignon, Dom Ruinart, Bollinger.
